In Homo Sapiens or humans, the muscular system helps us to move, it creates stability, balance, posture, and keeps us warm. Attached to the human skeletal system, there are about 700 muscles ranging among smooth muscles, cardiac muscles, and skeletal muscles. Muscles in the human body contain skeletal muscle tissue, blood vessels, tendons and nerves. Because they muscle tissue is the only part of the human body that can expand and contract it produces a great deal of body heat. Also, many people don't realize that muscles are very useful in moving materials and substances like blood and food throughout the entire body.
